Adjudicator's Remarks:

Careful with opening - fine dynamic.  You recover.  The music flows.  Ends in style.  (25) stylish - rhythm is fine.  (81) not just together.  (112) ensemble not just tight.  (144) nice cornet link.  (151) soloists safe - nice sop.  (166) nice chording.  (172) a nice change of mood.  (185) all goes well.  Semis measured.  (204) fine horns.  Rhythm is well executed.  Technically this is fine playing.  (241) horn/flug/euph/cornet stylish links.  (249) euph high A tuning?  (261) fine p dynamic.  Control is nicely shaped.  Flug/horns nice link to cornet.  (288) some lack of clarity.  (310) basses/euph neat.  (324) nice sop.  (335) semis are nicely measured.  (347) controlled f tutti.  Fine dynamic level.  (366) all goes well.  Maybe more mf <> chords neat.  (380) fine p level.  Ending well played.

Had some nice moments - soloists did you proud.

Dennis Wilby

Not really convincing at the opening but you recover.  Allegro:  tight start to the movement.  (120) split notes in euphs.  (144) cornet good and apart from the odd bit of intonation, quite well played to Allegro, which is tidy.  Andante:  all soloists good.  (250) euph not on note.  (261) through (268) some tuning problems unsolved.  Presto for the most part is well managed.  Meno Mosso has shape and style, the odd bit of intonation, but a good ending to a quite good musical performance.

Geoffrey Whitham
